I have always enjoyed working with children, especially, street/disadvantaged children from Vietnam. I find their company and smiles are all worthwhile. For the 'Breaking the cycle' event (in May) I was designing promotional products such as the Programme, ticket, volunteer passes and media advertisements. Currently I am working with other volunteers on the Summer Program and I think the most rewarding thing about volunteering is that you can spend a lot of time with the kids and grow really close to them. The activities are also a hands-on for instance, the bakery class or excursions to the zoo, swimming, and roller skating. By interacting with the kids I was able to learn about the culture and their lifestyle and vice versa . |
