Thang is a grade 9 student of the Open High School of District 1 HCMC, and is also a resident at 15 May School. Thang has just received an impressive award winning 3rd place overall, in the subject of History out of all the contestants from other high schools throughout the city. The contest took place in March 2007 and on Saturday 26th May, she finally received the reward for her efforts. She was invited to attend the award ceremony at the HCM Opera House where she received her prize amongst the other top achievers in the city.
Thang is a studious and an intelligent student who devotes most of her time to her studies. In her spare time, she likes to listen to music and read books. We managed to ask her a few questions between her study break...
15/5: Thang, why did you decide to join this competition?
Thang: ..I'm good at History and I like to study about the heroes of Vietnam.
15/5: How do you feel after taking the exam?
Thang: I thought I only had a 50/50 chance at winning. After knowing the results I was very surprised but happy with my achievements. In fact I was so happy i wrote to my parents to tell them the good news and I ran around telling all my friends.
15/5: Is there anything else you'd like to say?
Thang: I'd like to express my deepest gratitude to all the teachers at my school, and all the volunteers who have helped me to get to where I am today, so THANK YOU very much!
15 May School would like to congratulate Thang on her wonderful achievement!
